A competition to design the 2008 directory

For the design of the new cover of Iowa Architect, when I heard about the concept of the competition, I thought about perspectives of space and how they draw your eye in and make you wonder and experience this three-dimensional object. My objective then was to resemble this experience but using basic shapes instead. I chose to work with circles since their powerful shape draw your eyes to their center, to its interior. And the effect of three-dimensionality was achieved by combining them in different sizes, as if you were looking at the architecture of shapes such as tunnels, walkways at airports or schools. Simple shapes then were combined with the boldness of the red, black and white color combination to make the design elegant and classic
